AI in Structural Biology: 200 Million Proteins in Two Years

On September 24–26, Astana hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference “ONCO FUTURE KAZAKHSTAN 2026: Theranostics • Precision Oncology • Artificial Intelligence,” organized by the National Research Oncology Center LLP and the Society of Surgical Oncologists. 

Over three days, physicians, researchers and experts discussed how new technologies are changing the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Events like this give specialists a chance to compare approaches, hear from colleagues in related fields and bring scientific ideas closer to clinical practice.

Our colleague Kaiyrgali Yerulanuly, Manager of the Drug Supply Department, presented a talk titled “Structural Biology in the Age of AI: 200 Million Proteins in Two Years.” The title alone shows the scale of change: tasks that once took years can now be solved far faster thanks to artificial intelligence.
